Ballykelly The Essential
The village was founded in the early 17C by the Fishmongers' Company, who built a model farm which still stands on the north side of the road. A two-storey block is linked to two houses by a curtain wall enclosing the farmyard. Opposite, you can see the Presbyterian church (1827). The Anglican church, lying on a small hill screened by beech trees, on the south side of the village, was built in 1795 by the Earl Bishop of Derry.
