Bangor
Bangor The Essential
Bangor, lying on the south shore of Belfast Lough at the neck of the Ards Peninsula, is a Belfast dormitory town and seaside resort. The colony was founded by Scottish settlers in the 17C and became a holiday resort two centuries later. It offers safe sandy beaches, a seawater swimming pool, several yacht clubs and a golf course. In the late 1980s, the whole seafront was refurbished with a fun park and a very popular marina (560 berths).
