Burg Hasegg

Originally a stronghold, the castle with its impressive tower used to control the river. It gained historical importance when the Tyrol rulers transferred their mint here in 1567. It was in Hall that the silver thaler, accepted throughout Europe, was minted until the early 19C. You can visit the mint. The castle is also home to the municipal museum (Stadtmuseum).
