Ha Long Bay
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ha Long Bay is Vietnam's leading tourist sight. The bay is home to a karstic formation of almost 2 000 islands: rocks of different shapes and sizes covered with saxicolous plants emerge from the turquoise waters where caves and small lakes lie hidden. A paradise for pirates in the late 18C, the bay is now a popular tourist attraction. To make your stay truly unforgettable, spend a night on a boat in the bay or go climbing on the cliffs overlooking the water.
