Museum, Site of Umm Qais (Gadara)

Visitors to the site should not miss this small museum located in an old Ottoman residence, Bayt Russan, with black and white seating and a pretty garden planted with pomegranates. At the entrance is a statue with superb drapery (probably representing Tyche), discovered in the west theatre. On the wall, the 4C Byzantine mosaic once covered the tombs of three prominent Gadara Christians. A small room on the right of the courtyard displays items discovered during excavations undertaken at Gadara.
