Amasya Museum

The Amasya Museum's collection ranges from the Hittite period, represented by jewellery and a small statue of Teshub, god of thunder, to the Ottoman era, with exhibits such as carved wood panelling and period furniture, including a chest adorned with mother of pearl. A section is devoted to ethnographic collections. The informative visit finishes in the garden, opposite the 14C mausoleum of Sultan Mesut, which houses the mummified sovereign surrounded by his family.
