New Art Gallery

Highly recommended
The post-modernist Neue Pinakothek is the work of Alexander von Branca (1981). Built in sandstone, the museum houses masterpieces from the early 18C (Gainsborough and Goya) to the early 20C (Klimt and Schiele). The different schools exhibited here include 19C German art (Moritz von Schwind); Romanticism and Realism (Géricault, Delacroix, Courbet, von Marées, Fenbach); Impressionism, Post-Impression and Symbolism (Van Gogh, Gauguin, Manet, Degas, Cézanne); and Art Nouveau.
