Drumheller The Essential
Interesting
As visitors approach Drumheller, crossing a fertile, wheat-growing plain dotted by bobbing "donkey head" oil pumpjacks, the townsite comes as surprise. Nearly 120m/400ft deep and 1.6km/1mi wide, the extensively eroded valley in which the town sits is the very image of desolation. But it is due to this erosion that the Dinosaur Capital of the World is one of Alberta's most visited sites, overflowing with tourists during the summer.
