This eminent institution, opened in 1968, focuses on the natural and cultural heritage history of British Columbia and welcomes more than 850,000 visitors annually. The Glass House showcases some of the oldest First Nations totem poles of the province. British Columbia's natural history is featured on the second floor. An unusual Open Ocean exhibit pays tribute to William Beebe's deep-sea diving exploits in 1930. The third floor is devoted to the province's modern history and, quite remarkably, to that of the First Nations.
