King's Bastion at the Fortress of Louisbourg
This building, the most impressive and prestigious of the complex, used to house the garrison. It particularly exemplifies the vast social disparity between the troops and their officers. The governor's apartments consist of 10 lavishly furnished, elegant rooms. Not quite as lavish, but well-appointed are the officers' quarters. On the other hand, the drafty, Spartan soldiers' barracks are not at all conducive to a long stay. The prison and a chapel are also open to the public.
