Brantford The Essential

Named after the Six Nations leader, Joseph Brant, this manufacturing city on the banks of the Grand River, is also famous as the family home of inventor Alexander Graham Bell and birthplace of hockey champion Wayne Gretzky, to whom Brantford is clearly much attached: a road (Wayne Gretzky Parkway), an annual competition and a sports complex all pay tribute to the local hero.
