Murney Tower Historic National Site

The squat, round Murney tower, reinforced by fine vaulting, is a Martello tower built out of stone in 1846 to protect the port. Inside, living quarters of the garrison have been recreated, including the gun platform with its 32-pounder cannon on a circular traverse.
