Rideau Canal

Interesting
Rideau Canal, a listed Unesco site, is ideal for a wide range of leisure activities. In summer, canoeing and boating are popular and in winter ice skating takes over, while the banks are popular with cyclists, runners and cross-country skiers. Small chalets erected on the frozen ground sell snacks and rent ice skates. The 200km/124mi of navigable waterways that link Lake Ontario to the Ottawa River are set aside for leisure boats and activities.
