Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu The Essential
This pleasant city is located on the west bank of the Upper Richelieu River, across from its twin city, Iberville. Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu developed as an important port for commerce with the states surrounding Lake Champlain, namely New York and Vermont. Today the city is well known for its fascinating balloon festival, which takes place every August.
