San Carlos Institute

The roots of this 1924 Spanish Colonial structure date back to 1871, when it served as the hub of social and revolutionary activity for Cubans in Key West. Ground-floor displays focus on José Martí (1853-95), organizer of the second effort for Cuban independence.
