National Museum of Mexican Art

The largest institution of its kind in the US, this respected ethnic center is best known for its exhibits and programs focusing on Mexico's colorful celebration of the Day of the Dead. A recent 33,000-square-foot addition enables the museum to exhibit works from its permanent collection in Mexicanidad: Our Past Is Present, which journeys from prehistory to the present. Note the stunning beaded mural called New Awakening.
