Monument Circle

Interesting
Dedicated in 1902, the 284ft-high obelisk of the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument forms the center of the circle. The limestone shaft, commemorating veterans of the Civil War, is surrounded by terraces and fountains and capped by a 38ft-high statue of Victory. Surrounding buildings curve in deference to the memorial, whose observation tower offers a view 231ft above the city.
