Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site

Owner Daniel Turnbull's wife, Martha, experimented with exotic plant species, successfully introducing azaleas and camellias to the southeastern US. Now owned by the state of Louisiana, the lovely plantation home and gardens are operated as a state historic site. House tours present the history of the plantation; within you'll see crystal chandeliers, Dufour wallpaper, and other artifacts original to the home.
