Mill District and the banks of the Mississippi

Interesting
This district contains fascinating relics of the growth of industry in Minneapolis. The gargantuan 19C mills lined a three-block corridor surrounding the waterfalls and the warehouses used nearby. Some of these buildings have been turned into bars, restaurants and loft apartments. St Anthony Falls Heritage Trail loops for 2.8km along the riverfront, passing in front of "A" Mill (1881) and the 1883 Stone Arch Bridge, a masterpiece of engineering.
