Museum of the City of New-York

Recommended
Founded in 1923 as America's first institution dedicated to the history of a city, this museum chronicles the changing face of New York through its rich collections of decorative arts, furnishings, silver, prints and paintings. Worth noting is the fascinating multimedia exhibit Timescapes, which traces the growth of the city from its founding to the present. Especially beguiling is the Toy Gallery with its exquisite series of doll houses.
