Rubin Museum of Art

Recommended
This stunning museum is the first Western institution dedicated solely to presenting and interpreting the little-known art of Bhutan, Tibet, Nepal and other parts of the Himalayas. Some 900 paintings, sculptures, textiles and ritual objects spanning two millennia are on display, most dating from the 12C to the present. The permanent second-floor exhibit "What Is It?" introduces first-timers to the wonder and beauty of Himalayan art.
