Soho

Recommended
The site of the first free black community on the island, this area was settled in 1644 by former slaves of the Dutch West India Company. Today, Soho (an acronym for South of Houston Street) mixes up a lively blend of tony emporiums, art galleries and bargain outlets, particularly along West Broadway and Broadway.
