Times Square

Recommended
This trapezoidal plot formed by Broadway and Seventh Avenue between 42nd and 43rd streets has long been the epicenter of New York's live entertainment district. Though it fell into seamy squalor in the mid-20C, the area has been reclaimed, and today pulses with energy from bright neon signs and the constant throng of people passing by. Roughly a million revelers converge on the square each New Year's Eve to count down as a giant ball drops atop One Times Square to mark the arrival of the new year.
