Willamette Science and Technology Center

Interesting
Known to locals and visitors alike as "Wistec," this science center has been stimulating the imaginations of children (and adults) since 1961. The small facility changes its theme every few months, covering subjects from forests to atomic particles to bridges. Displays, many of them interactive, manage to be both whimsical and educational; an exhibition on vision includes a microscope through which you can view a fly's eye, and a color vision test that allows visitors to compare human color vision with that of dogs and shrimp. Next door, the Lane ESD Planetarium ranks as one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest.
