South Dakota State Capitol

The four-story South Dakota State Capitol is a modified Greek structure with Ionic columns. Built in 1910 of native fieldstone, Indiana limestone and Italian marble, it was restored in 1989. Unique to the building is its terrazzo flooring: The 66 contributing Italian artisans were told to place a blue signature tile wherever they liked.
