Bennington The Essential
Interesting
Surrounded by the Taconic Range and the Green Mountains, this southern Vemont community includes commercial North Bennington; the historic district known as Old Bennington; and the business district of Bennington Center. It's a crossroads community, located as it is near the states of New York and Massachusetts and laced by several US routes. The craft of pottery took root here in the 1820s, and the town is home to the famed Bennington Potters; you'll find numerous shops and craft centers selling a variety of ceramics and glassware made by local artisans.
