Lying just outside Lower Nubia, Aswan is a city bursting with charm. The Nubian people are very welcoming, the air seems miraculously pure, and the sky is an azure blue. The sails of the feluccas floating on the Nile in between the enormous granite rocks and green islands stand out against the yellow sand of the desert. The splendid archaeological site of Philae looks out over Lake Nasser and the mysterious Nubian region. Egypt's southernmost city is an invitation to dream and relax, and offers a way of life far removed from the hustle and bustle of Cairo.
