Ben Youssef Madrasa

Recommended
Ben Youssef madrasa, built in the mid-14C by the Marinid sultan Abu el-Hassan then later transformed by the Saadian sultan Moulay Abdallah, was renowned throughout the Maghreb and housed up to 900 students. You can see the prayer room and, upstairs, 132 bedrooms, with views of the central courtyard or of tiny inner courtyards, which are lined with turned wood balustrades. The entire site has been magnificently restored.
