Great Wall at Simatai

Highly recommended
Simatai is the most spectacular and striking section of the Great Wall as it is here that it traverses mountain ridges, the sides of which plunge dramatically into the void below. In these extreme landscapes, the technical prowess of engineers from the Ming dynasty is fully apparent in the obstacle walls and watchtowers. Although requiring significant effort, it is well worth the effort to "climb" the wall here, although a cable car is also available to visitors.

The Great Wall of China

Born of the desire to protect Chinese territory from barbarian invasions, the Great Wall of China is unquestionably one of the most fascinating human creations in existence, with its 6,700 km stretching from the Yellow Sea in the east to the Gobi desert in the west.
