This fishing village in the north of the Bukit peninsula has modest houses dotted along the side of the road. The beach, a crescent of white sand, is lined by seafood restaurants. Nothing seems to bother the fishermen sitting in their multi-coloured jukungs to repair their nets. Further north, a flotilla of colourful boats bobs on the water, waiting for nightfall before lifting anchor. In the mornings there is a market, where the fishermen's wives sell the day's catch.
