Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum
This museum has found a home in this lovely contemporary glass and wood structure, blending in admirably with the surrounding landscape. The exhibition rooms revolve around three themes: history, creation and knowledge transmission related to woodwork. On display are carpenter's tools from prehistoric Jomon stone axes to more recent western tools, traditional carpentry techniques, the know-how of master craftsmen and different tree essences used in building work.
