When you arrive, it won't be long before you encounter the deer which inhabit the large central park (600ha). These tame animals roam freely here and command respect as the purported messengers of the Shinto gods. The park provides greenery right in the heart of the city, which is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Once through the suburbs, Nara, city of culture and cradle of traditions, will more than meet expectations. Former capital of Japan, from 710 to 784, the city boasts numerous treasures, temples and gardens singled out by UNESCO.
