Rinno-ji

Interesting
Shodo Shonin was so taken by the purity of the mountain landscape that he decided to found the Rinno-ji shrine here to honour the goddess Kannon. The temple is home to superb statues including Amida-nyorai, the Buddha of Infinite Light, Senju Kannon, a deity with a thousand arms, and Bato Kannon, a goddess who feasts on human anger and melancholy. Don't miss the Treasury, filled with rare Buddhist artefacts, and the divine Shoyo-en Garden.
