Sekishu Washi Kaikan

This craft workshop upholds the ancient tradition of washi paper manufacturing using the ancient 1,300-year-old nagashizuki technique. Committed to traditional methods, the craftsmen acquaint visitors with the different steps of washi paper manufacture: cleaning the mulberry branches, obtaining the pulp after steaming, and finally delicate hand-sieving to produce a fine sheet of paper (100% natural, combining softness, luminosity and resistance).
