Pha Taem National Park
Located 200m above the Mekong and affording unforgettable views of the river, the Pha Taem National Park is a unique site home to a number of works of prehistoric art. Superb deep red paintings adorning the walls overlooking the water illustrate scenes of daily life, and have resulted in the park being awarded the official title of a "painted cliff". To round off the scene, erosion has also played its part, sculpting the rocks into extraordinary mushroom shapes.
