Entirely devoted to tourism, Hoi An, a Unesco world heritage site, is an authentic open-air museum with nearly 850 historic sites, some of which built by Europeans, Japanese and Chinese. All of which happily rub shoulders with small craft stalls where local artisans continue to uphold traditional Hoi craft techniques. Treated to a facelift of unprecedented proportions in Vietnam, Hoi An has preserved its priceless heritage and is now the country's most beautiful town.
