Palacio de la Moneda

Interesting
The Palacio de la Moneda in Santiago, the presidential palace since 1846 and seat of government, bears the memory of the 1973 coup that led to the death of Allende. A symbol of Chilean resistance, it was designed by the Spanish (1784) and inaugurated in 1805.
