Museo Casa Anzoátegui

One of the great generals of Bolívar's army, José Antonio Anzoátegui died in this house in 1819, three months after the Battle of Boyacá. He was 30 years old. This illustrious soldier is said to have played a decisive role in the victory. The house has been turned into a museum displaying mementoes relating to this key chapter in Colombia's history. The building is also home to the city's archives.
