Salento
The Essential
Recommended
This traditional Antioquia village, the oldest in the Quindío, dates back to 1850. Many Colombians from surrounding towns flock here every weekend. It is organised around a small square lined with fine old houses that have been converted into hotels, restaurants and shops. Charming little streets shoot off from the square to form a grid, their houses adorned with flower-decked balconies and wooden doors painted bright colours, examples of Zona Cafetera bahareque architecture.
