Palacio Salcines

Heading up Calle Pedro A. Perez past acuadra north of Parque José Martí running as far as the Prado junction, note the dome of Palacio Salcines, surmounted by a female figure blowing on a Fama ("the famous") became the city's symbol, like theGiraldilla in Havana. In this amazing 1920s palace, theCentro Provincial de Artes Visuales organises art exhibitions (works may be bought).
