Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre
The statue of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre (Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre) draws hundreds of worshippers each Sunday who come from Santiago to attend Mass in the basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre. Found in the bay of Nipe in the early 17C, Cuba's patron saint has been an object of veneration ever since. The sanctuary where the statue stands is full of ex-voto offerings left by the faithful.
