The Marina and Bas-du-Fort

The Marina is the place to go for night owls, especially since Pointe-à-Pitre is not known for its liveliness after dark! So if you are looking for nightlife, head for the area (on the Route du Gosier), where the ad hoc establishments are centred. The quarter is also worth a visit by day: don't miss Fort de Fleur d'Épée, its military history today softened by a pretty garden adorned with flamboyants, and the marina waterfront with its bobbing boat masts.
