Sainte-Rose

Sainte-Rose
The Essential
Founded in 1636 as Grand Cul-de-Sac, Ste-Rose is one of Guadeloupe's oldest settlements. It has long been engaged in sugar-cane cultivation, an ever-dwindling sector. Its commercial centre merits a fleeting visit; around the town are numerous places of interest, notably the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin nature reserve.
