A visit to the Habitation Beauséjour will reveal a well-preserved 17C property, featuring all the characteristic details of Martinique homes from the colonial mansion to the rue case-nègres. Formerly devoted to sugarcane, the estate's amazing hydraulic wheel and canal that irrigated the land and supplied the house with water, can still be seen. The estate is located on the Route des habitations, which leaves from Macouba, taking you past former plantation estates set in stunning landscapes.
