Sheltered from the wind by the Caravelle Peninsula, La Trinité has plenty to recommend it to travellers. All along the Baie des Raisiniers, the seafront of this fishing village has been nicely laid out as a promenade, with a smattering of colonial houses. The two imposing canons near the town hall are a reminder of the 18C defensive system. The ruins of Fort St Catherine are another vestige from this period. Swimmers might want to head further north for the wonderful shady beaches in the coves at Anse Cosmy and Anse Azerot.
