MAMUZ Museum

The Asparn Castle site (Schloss Asparn/Zaya) houses the Lower Austrian Museum of Prehistory (Urgeschichtemuseum Niederösterreich), one of the two merged museums making up MAMUZ. It presents human culture from its origins to early Christian times. The Open-Air Archaeology Site, located behind the castle, includes reconstructions of human habitats from the Paleolithic period to the start of the Iron Age. Housed in the abbey, the second MAMUZ site, Museum Mistelbach, is a centre for exhibitions and exchange.
