Riegersburg Castle

Riegersburg Castle was purchased by the Governor of Lower Austria in 1730 and converted into an outstanding Baroque palace with four wings framing a square courtyard. The main façade is divided by a central portico with five columns, topped by round-arched windows and flanked by corner pavilions. Note particularly the furniture and stucco decoration in the state rooms, as well as the kitchen, which is the only one of its kind to have retained its original equipment in Austria.
