Krems und Stein

At the eastern end of the Wachau, Krems stretches out in terraces along the left bank of the Danube at the foot of a hillside covered with vineyards. This large conglomeration, which in fact encompasses Krems, Stein, and Und, their suburb, leads Austrians to say that Krems, Und ("and" in German) and Stein are three towns. In 2000, Krems and the surrounding countryside became a Unesco World Heritage Site.
