Eggenberg Castle

Recommended
Between 1625 and 1635, this UNESCO-listed residence was built on the site of a medieval castle for Johann Ulrich Eggenberg. Its uniqueness lies in its decoration, an allegory for the universe: four towers, 365 windows and 24 state rooms, with 52 windows. In addition to the halls, you can also visit the Alte Galerie, the Medal Collection the Archaeology Museum, the centrepiece of which is the cult Strettweg Chariot, and the aromatic Planet Garden.
