This museum, considered to be one of the finest of its kind in Europe, is dedicated to the traditions of the historic Tyrol region (which once included Trentino and the valleys of the Dolomites). The fine panelled interiors recreate peasant, middle-class and aristocratic life through the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods. The first floor displays models of farms, painted furniture, Grödner Tal wood sculpture work, masks and costumes; on the second floor is a fine collection of religious folk art.
